Just getting started in woodworking or interested in improving your woodworking skills? This foundation course introduces you to the wonderful world of woodworking. In this two day hands-on class you will construct a small wall shelf with a drawer and two shelves using basic joinery techniques. You will also gain experience in how to safely use a miter saw, table saw, bandsaw, jointer, planer, router table and sanders. Resin Seascape

Friday, September 5, 12 PM - 5 PM

Students will create two 5"x7" ocean seascapes using surface-pour resin and wood that they will prepare in class. To allow for proper cure time, project pick-up will be at a later date.

Pen Turning

Saturday, September 6, 10 AM - 3 PM

Learn how to use a lathe by employing tools and techniques to turn a wood pen. Must be 18 years of age to attend. Class fee covers material to make 2 pens. Basic Box

Saturday, September 13, 9 AM - 5 PM

In this class you will build a small lidded box with a lift off lid. Bill has over 20 years of woodworking experience. He will walk you through the entire process of making this exquisite box. By the end of the class you will leave with a very nice-looking box that can be left natural or stained. He will also cover different finishing options to give the box the appearance you desire.

Of the many dovetail systems on the market, the PC 4212 stands out in versatility, ease of use, and cost. With it, drawers, chests, book shelves and any other projects are made with ease. Resin Coasters

Part 1: Friday, September 19, 12 PM - 5 PM

Part 2: Friday, September 26, 12 PM - 5 PM

This will be a 2 part class. On the first day, students will learn about deep-pour resin and prepare live-edge wood pieces. The second day will consist of cutting and finishing the coasters.

Basic Cabinet

Part 1: Saturday, September 20, 9 AM - 5 PM

The Basic Cabinet Class is a foundational wood working course designed to equip beginners with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to construct a Shaker style cabinet. The cabinet dimensions are 16" x 24" x 35". Throughout the course, students will learn essential techniques such as measuring, cutting, and using pocket holes to join wood to create functional and aesthetically pleasing cabinets. The curriculum covers topics including selecting appropriate tools and materials, and safely operating woodworking machinery. Under Bill Martin's guidance, participants will gain hands-on experience allowing them to develop confidence and proficiency in cabinet making. By the end of the course, students will have the skills to embark on their own cabinet-making projects with competence and creativity. Thursday, October 9, 5:30 PM - 8 PM

Tuning and adjustments are crucial to get optimal performance out of your bandsaw. Afterwards cutting thin veneers are possible.
