Description: This class will cover the process of making a real regulation size chess board that will be a stunningly beautiful piece of art. 2” X 2” regulation squares will be solid and made from dark Walnut against light Maple and will be bordered with a Walnut setting. This will be a 3 day class since the gluing is needed to dry. The procedure will include selecting wood, layout, gluing, planning, clamping, and sanding which will improve your overall workshop skills. A finishing technique recommendation will be discussed. A sample of the finished product is on display in the Woodcraft store.
