Do you have challenge coins just lying around? Then this class is for you. This challenge coin holder is made from cherry and is about 17" long, 6" tall, and has 4 rows to hold about 32 challenge coins. You will learn how to use a table saw, miter saw, and pocket screws. You will have to apply the finish of your choosing after the class.
The price for this class is per couple. This date night class is a great way for you and your partner to learn to make your own cutting board (approximately 8” x 16”). In this class, we will start with pre-cut wood strips of exotic woods. We will also discuss the techniques of cutting the wood to specific sizes needed for the cutting board. The process will introduce you to the thickness planer and orbital sander. The cutting board will be finished with food safe mineral oil which will bring out the beauty of the wood.
In this class, we will take a comprehensive look at the process of turning a bowl. We will discuss methods of roughing out, mounting with chucks, turning, and finishing a bowl. Any and all questions during this process are welcomed. We will turn a small bowl using spur and live centers, chucks, and a friction drive. We will do our turning with traditional turning tools.
Stop in for this free Carve-in with members of the Miami Valley Wood Carvers. There is no cost and no registration required. Any one is welcome including beginners and advanced carvers. If you have a project that you are working on, bring it along to work on it and show what you are carving.
This meeting is open to anyone that has a CNC, is thinking about a CNC, or just needs help with Vectric software. We talk everything CNC and encourage you to bring in your projects, both good and bad, to tell us what you learned so others can learn from you.
