Why put a company logo on a custom kit knife???
I like the size and balance of this blade. However, it drives me crazy that the maker puts their name on a kit for MY custom knife! If I want to put the person’s name or anniversary date on this knife, I have to polish off the Zhen logo, which messes up the Damascus finish. It like buying a piece of special wood with the lumberyards name on it. Zhen, Please consider removing your logo from kit knives, as Katsura and many other companies do!!

Nakiri and Santoku
Bought both of these for our daily use kitchen. We have a Sushi knife from Japan which cost over $300. These two are just as sharp, well crafted and perfectly balanced. I put mesquite scales on them and had both done in under 2 hours. I put magnets on the side of our knife block so you could appreciate the fine finish of these blades. This is an unbelievable value if you want a professional quality knife.

Great project
Purchased this knife to give as a Christmas present for my mother who likes good kitchen knives. The blade and finish is very good. I like the balance and feel of the knife and believe it will last for generations.

Knife is warped
Poorly finished. I expect at least a straight knife blade at this price. The blade was bowed, and the handle comes off from where it attaches to the blade at a several degree angle. Handle was slightly bowed as well. You can straighten the blade with a vice and some spacers, but the handle took a bit of grinding. I ended up having to slightly angle the handle scales so they would match with the bolster.

Stays razor sharp
Made this knife for my wife as a Mother's Day gift. She uses it for almost everything. Holds a razor sharp edge for a long time. When it does need dressed, I give it a couple passes on the 4000 grit wet sand and it'll take the hair right off. A must for cutting thin slices of thin-skinned vegetables like tomatoes. Glides through like hot butter.

Nice gift for avid cook.
Very sharp. Place a rag over the blade when shaping underside of handle.

My favorite knife
I purchased the paring knife about a year ago and it quickly became my favorite knife in the knife drawer. it has now been replaced by the Zhen Nakiri. This knife if super sharp and makes slicing anything very easy, almost effortless. It's an excellent size and has a nice feel in the hand. Perfect for sandwich making, meat slicing, tomato cutting. With a stunning cocobolo handle it has now become my go to utensil and easily the best knife in my kitchen, even compared to knives costing three times as much.

quality products as always
I purchased to provide for my son, a sou chef. Word of mouth quickly spread and I sold 2 more Knives. The selection of wood scales and ability to customize the handles make this finished tool something that cannot be imitated.
