A classic design to liven your yard, patio, or deck, this attractive and comfortable piece is designed to furnish smooth, easy gliding. The plan itself gives full size detail on how to build your own glider hardware, or use premade hardware. It has a roomy 48" wide seat and can be painted, stained, or left unfinished to weather a silver gray if you choose to use cedar or other appropriate lumber.


All joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size and you can measure and trace straight from the drawing. A bill of materials doubles as an exact cutting list, there is a detailed exploded diagram, and all hardware requirements are provided.


NOTE: The exploded diagram is so detailed that project specific assembly instructions are not provided.

    Good Plan, but could be modified

    I made this plan, and the full scale drawing was easy to follow. The only complaints I have is that the arm rest was a little low and I raised it 1 1/4", and the base can be a little bit deeper to prevent tipping across the back. If you're looking for a plan to provide a basis for modifications to make your own custom glider, this is a good option.
