Ever since sliding compound mitersaws replaced radial-arm saws, users have learned to deal with the saw’s major shortcoming: The rails that support the motor and guide the blade require almost as much clearance at the back of the tool as the cutting table does at the front. That foot or so might not seem like much, but providing rail space often means sacrificing floor space, a resource that most basement and garage shops have in very short supply. Thankfully, Bosch has devised a saw that shrinks the footprint by 12".

    Where are the instructions?

Second Wood River plane I have purchased. First was a shoulder plane. Love them both but!!!! neither of the two came with any instructions whatsoever, why do I have to go online to find out how to adjust these planes. Wasted a lot of time researching adjustment. When I buy a new tool, tell me how it works.

Well Made, Real Deal, (Ain't Cheap)

Use anywhere you'd use a chisel to clean up or level, especially in corners of joinery. Blade is substantial and came at exactly 25 degrees. I think it's a copy of an old tool I've never seen or used before, but this is very good quality and useful. With a little practice you can control it, shave cross-grain, etc. without butchering. I'm already using it more than I thought I would. The iron is sharp and exposed, needs to be kept in a box or holder that covers the blade. Not something you can leave exposed in a work area.

Ok, I love this little guy. When you first get it, it does have sharp edges which need to be addressed with a file, but that is no big deal especially considering the price. The blade was almost perfect and the sole was dead flat. Bottom line: BUY THIS PLANE, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

    small chisel plane

I was surprised at the high quality of the fit and finish of this small chisel plane ! Lie nielsen equivalent costs 2X as much. Being a retired tool&diemaker, I am impressed.
