Great for checking straightness of anything
Description says accurate to .003 over the entire length. Mine was flat and straight to a bit less than .0015". I spent my entire working life as a machinist and I will tell you for less than $40 that is impressive. Even .003 straightness for that price is impressive. Keep in mind that .003 is about half the size of one of the hairs on your head. Has a nice hole at one end so it is easy to hang on the wall out of the way. Nice weight and very comfortable to hold. I think I'll pick up the 24" one and use them as winding sticks.
