Ebiara (Berlinia grandiflora) is also known as Red Zebrawood for the dark-purplish-brown irregular streaks or stripped veins sometimes visible on quartered surfaces. Heartwood color ranges from pink-red to deep red-brown. Ebiara exhibits a moderately coarse texture and good natural luster and is generally easy to work with sharp tools. Typical uses include veneer, furniture, cabinetry, turned objects, and other small specialty wood items.
