SOY-Gel™ — effective, effortless, and odorless coating removal—is the result of Franmar Chemical’s 25-year investment in developing effective, economical and safe cleaning solutions from soybeans and natural elements. Stripping the old finish or paint is a job no one likes, and it is usually done outside in old clothes—with heavy gloves. The paint removers of a generation ago worked but weren’t very friendly or safe. SOY-Gel™ is different. Why? It is 100% biodegradable, has no known health hazards, is virtually odorless, and best of all, it works. You should still wear the old clothes and gloves, but you can put the respirator away.

This product works!
Recently used this to strip polyurethane off of two end tables for refinishing and it works as advertised. Used it in an airconditioned shop, no odor or fumes and works the same as the really harsh stippers.
Absolutely one of the very best products in the finisher's cabinet. Stripping is never a joy but when its dangerous and fumy it really sucks. Now it can be as good as can be with Franmar Soy Gel Stripper. The stuff absolutely works and very well at that. Doesn't darken wood like many caustic chemical strippers. Works relatively fast, requires NO safety gloves! It clings to vertical surfaces really well too. HIGHLY recommend!
Soy Gel paint stripper
Purchased Soy Gel stripper to remove a poly tung oil finish off of a guitar I was building. I applied the stripper exactly as to the directions. After 2 hours I took an old credit card and just gently scraped the old finish right off onto paper towels. Used denatured alcohol and a little steel wool to clean the surface when I was done. I have used every stripper on the market through the years and Soy Gel by far is the best product out there. You don't even have to deal with dangerous fumes. There is very little odor at all. Follow the directions on the bottle and the results will blow you away!
Just finished stripping off old paint from a table that was put on in 1937. I just followed the directions on the bottle and it was amazing washed the wood with warm water and a scoth brite pad and the wood was bare great stuff.
