This Robert Sorby Fingernail Bowl Gouge - 3/8" is perfect for making rounder, smoother bowls. This fingernail shaped gouge allows the turner more flexibility to perform 'pull cuts' without catching the lathe bed. The greater cutting area can be used equally well for heavy profiling cuts or fine, delicate shearing cuts. The 3/8” Fingernail bowl gouge has a 9” blade made from M2 High speed steel and features an ergonomic 14” ash handle with a solid brass ferrule.

fingernail bowl gouge
excellent tool I have been using a set of hss tools and some carbide tools for turning this gouge is easier to use and cuts faster and smoother than I expected. I use it on a small grizzy lathe and it works very well
