It works but it's you can only do so much.
Who's looking for scroll saw for a while and I bought this I've had it for a year and a half no problems. But you can only do so much you have. The biggest problem is the blades pin end. So you have to drill a bigger hole to start with. I have a lot of rikon tools but they need to get on the game and make a better saw. It's my own fault I should have spent more money for a better scroll saw.

More of a toy than a tool
I found this scroll saw to be a poor introdcution to the craft. I used it for a couple of months and then sold it on craiglist for 2/3 what I paid for it and put the money toward a Delta 40-690 to do some REAL scroll sawing. Lilke a previous reviewer wrote "..something thrown together to get beginners hooked on price..." (or something similat to that.) Save your money a buy a better saw.

Going to try to return it
Just seems that they tried to throw something together with a cheap price for those of us just getting into scrolling. I have not used many scroll saws but have used power tools daily for over 15 years and know what doesn't work. From a newbie standpoint this is what I found during my 2 hours using this model: The blade change is complicated and finicky for plain blades, even bolted down there was so much vibration I couldn't stay on the cut line and rattled most of the bolts holding the table and material hold down loose, the light flickered and flashed until it blew the bulb, the air blower is difficult to position exactly where you want it and even then has no power, and the table was bent. Just seems like inferior construction hidden by lights, bells and whistles.

Had to Return [...]
[...]. I did not like its performance at all.I returned it too. I have bought Craftsman 16" for less money.I have used it a lot, and enjoy the work I can produce with it.

Couldn't be happier!
Bought this to do my wifes crafts..built a small table for it and bought myself some Olsen PGT blades. Almost no vibration at all..very quiet.. I had a Dewalt a while back and this works as well as it did. For the money you get excellent results with this unit.

Not practical for plain end blades.
Nice saw for the price. I don't have enough experience to rate vibration. Seems okay. Worst thing is the design for holding straight end blades. Requires major fussing and it's not possible to unclamp one end to do fancy work. Rikon needs to add accessory to properly use straight end blades if they're going to say it uses them. For pin end blades its a pretty nice saw.
