      Don't bother reading the instructions

This mobile base is actually a pretty good item. The instructions, however, leave a whole lot to be desired. The instructions which come with this item are the worst I have ever seen. EVER. I started out by following the instructions. After 30 minutes I realized I would be better off by figuring it out with common sense and special perception. Not only are the instructions useless the part descriptions are inaccurate and the tools required list is inaccurate as well. Once I figured out which parts go where and which tools I need I had it assembled in no time. Some of the reviewers have stated this mobile base does not steer very well. I had the same issue until I loosened the steering caster nuts just a bit. All of a sudden the steering was effortless! I am using this mobile base for my drill press. After I set the drill press into the base the drill press started wobbling. I simply used a wedge in one corner and he wobbling went away. I would have given this item 4 stars had it not been for the wobbling.

Decent base with one key flaw

This base assembled easily and was quite adaptable to my 300+ pound band saw. However, the aluminum levers bend easily. While the base itself may have a 400 pound capacity as listed, that is more capacity than the levers can lift, which takes much of the "mobile" out of this mobile base. I'd only suggest using this on tools substantially less than 300 pounds.

      Useful. Watch dimensions

Goes together well and allows me to move my table saw with relative ease. Doesn't "steer" all that easily, but gets the job done. I have a DeWalt Job Site saw, and the foot dimensions were, I think, 37 x 24 (sum = 61) Although the range of sizes is given as 34x34 (sum 68) to 18 x 50 (sum 68), the saw didn't fit. (You get two long and four short rails, and not all combinations are possible.) (My memory is a little foggy on the specifics, but you get the idea) I called Woodcraft returns, and they promptly send me two more rails without charge. I appreciated that. With that, the problem was solved.

Good value for an easily adaptable tool.

Works great for my drill press. Very easy to assemble and use.

      Looking for something stronger

My Delta Uni-saw is a little to heavy for this product. The levers are made of aluminum and bend easily when raising the saw to move. Other than that it is a well made product.

I would buy this product again

Bought this mobile base for my 14" bandsaw as I have a small garage workshop. The base was easy to assemble and has made moving my bandsaw extremely easy. I will be buying a couple more for my scroll saw and table saw.

      Decent

It works OK, I am using for a drill press. The base of your machine or added platform in my case is only supported in the corners which is OK. Problem is that because of slop in the rails the corner support areas will not be coplaner. The corner areas provide mounting holes for an added base. I built up a 1.5 inch plywood base and put lag bolts from the underneath to mount it. A potential problem is that the mobile base sits so low that the lag bolt heads are only about 1/4" off the floor. Finally, the cantilever wheels used to make the base move feel flimsy and don't sit absolutely perpendicular to the floor when extended which means they fight a little - won't rotate direction easily. One last issue is that the two wheels used to raise the base are lowered separately. I need both hands to lower one wheel so the base tips while I do the first wheel. The base works fine for me, I move my drill rarely and given how heavy it is this product is better than my shop made base. I would not use it on something I move more than once a week.

      Works well!

I bought this for my table saw, so I could more easily move it around the garage so my wife park her car in there also. The locking casters work well to keep it in one place, when unlocked, it's easy to move around

      All tools should be mobile

Although I have a big shop, 40x48, I like to move my tools around as needed to best utilize floorspace. Mobile bases allow me to quickly change from woodworking to vehicle/tractor maintenance. Love it.

      Excellent mobile base kit !

This base with castors and locks is well made, nicely heavy (you want some weight under 400 pounds!) and solidly made. I was going to use it as a base for my motorcycle tire changer, but decided instead to use it as the base for a mechanics stool. Perfect for that job on a shop floor.

      misleading sizing

I needed a mobile base for a stand that is 23" by 32". The range of sizing listed for this mobile base seemed to indicate it would work fine for my application. Ultimately, it did fit, but it was a close call which I did not expect based on the listed sizing. Additionally, although assembling the base is obviously not rocket science, the instructions were not at all clear. In use, the base works fine. It rolls smoothly and locks securely.

I would buy this product again

Went together without a hitch, but my planner stand is wide at the base and the wheels keep catching on objects as I move it around my shop.

      It works!

The directions for putting it together leave a little to be desired, a few additional pictures might be nice, but it wasn't hard to figure out. I highly doubt the 400# claim so if you are putting a heavy tool on it go to the next size up at least. I put a delta 14" open stand bandsaw on it and would say that the "true" weight limit is probably being slightly exceded. Nonetheless, it looks like it will work well in my cramped shop where space is always a premium. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others provided they do not plan on puting too much weight on it.

      Cumbersome to use for bandsaw

Tricky to mount under a 14" bandsaw. A bit cumbersome to lift the wheels into position as you will tilt the saw sideways while doing so. Once the wheels are in position it works ok to move the machine around, however, the wheels are kind of floppy in the up position and makes for difficult steering. My bandsaw features a cabinet stand with storage - this base blocks the door from opening. I gained mobility - lost storage space. Its strong and I can move the saw but the base is just overall not easy to use. I avoid moving the saw if I don't have to.

      It rolls with the best!

As I have limited space in my shop-I really love to put my power tools and work benches on wheels. I can move one out of the way so I can access the others.

I would buy another one if I needed it.

I purchased this stand to go under a contracter radial arm saw. I knew that I had to cut the legs on the saw stand to make it fit, the stand legs were 34" front to back. The whole thing fits inside the base now. The saw now rolls where I want, and stays put.

Makes moving the band saw much easier

Using my garage as a small workshop, it's hard to move tools around. The bandsaw was the toughest and always took two people. With this mobile base, I can move the saw into position, lock it down, do my work, and then move it back all by myself. I love it.

      Kitchen use

We actually use this base for my wife's floor mounted 20 quart mixer which weighs about 200#. It works great for this. Just wheel the mixer out in the open for use and then back out of the way when done. The kitchen area is limited for space so we needed the mixer to be easily movable.
