Looking at the ad as I was browsing for some new gouges , I saw the set I purchased back in the late eighties , via the Boston woodcraft store. The same set is on my current bench. With correct care expect these to last for your entire life. Learn to hone and sharpen properly , never use a motor grinder, always use slip stones , strops and waterstones and they are yours forever. These tools are used daily.They are no where near retired.
I am a beginner carver and this product helps make learning easy.
