    Good adze

I have used this adze approximately two years and made more than a dozen bowls using it. It cuts well, has good balance, came sharp and has stayed sharp. It is not as good as the one I recently purchased from Country Workshops but for the money, it is a very good buy.

    Not what I expected!

I own many Pfeil carving tools, and love them all. This was therefore an absolute disappointment. The edge of the tool requires a lot of sharpening when it arrives, this is not the norm with Pfeil tools. I don't belive that the design was well thought out because the angle of the head is not good for the kind of deep hollowing needed for bowl carving. The steel does seem to be of a good enough quality for it to be worth my time to reforge the tool and design a new handle. I would however not recommend this tool because of its many short comings.
