Some of the greatest inventions in American woodworking came from the mountains of North Carolina – including the Woodpeckers® Paolini Rule that is available in 6", 8" and 12" versions. When you need vertical measurement, slide the stop off the end and insert it into the cutout on the blade. Now your rule has a perfect stand to keep it upright while you use both hands to dial in the height of a router bit, saw blade or dado stack, matching it to the easy-to-read scale engraved on the end of the rule. The inch model has 1/16" and 1/32" scales on both sides. They’re lined up so if you need the finer scale, you just flip the rule over and you’re there. Same thing for the end scale; just flip it over to look at finer or coarser graduations. It’s a welcome feature if your shop lighting isn’t perfect, or if your eyesight isn’t what it used to be.

    Features:

    • Stainless steel
    • Comes in 6", 8" and 12" versions
    • Made in America
    • Perfect for horizontal and vertical measurements

      Very useful tool

Unique design allows it to be used for a multitude of setups. I like that the notch at the end to guide the pencil is just about half of the pencil width, so the mark is very accurate. The feature that allows it to support the rule vertically for router bit and saw blade heights is very handy. Overall, I'm very pleased with the rule and use it regularly. Regarding a previous reviewer's comments on accuracy, I have placed the slider over the 1 inch mark and used calipers to check its accuracy. It was on the nose. It would be difficult to be 1/16" off unless your eyes were closed.

      Handy but Not Accurate

The Paoline Pocket Rule is a good idea but Woodpecker's is not accurate. If you put the sliding part directly over the mark on the ruler, you will off by as much as 1/16". The only way to get an accurate measurement or guide is to check it against spacer bars or a feeler gauge.
