Poor machining
Very disapointed with this american made set, I will not be buying anything from ramelson again. right out of the box several were dull, more than half were mis-ground to the point where I spent an entire day in the shop on the wet stones re-shaping every tool. Dont waste your money on these, you get what you pay for.

Very good product
I just started a woodcarving course, as a hobby, since I'm retired. The tools found locally are limited and not very good quality. This set makes the jobs much easier. I'm very happy with the tools.

Expectation management
I used these tools for entry-level luthier work. Overall the two sets i purcased bad a good range of blades, though at the bench I only used maybe four tools to all the work. I was very disappointed in the finish (sharpness) on the blades. I spent a solid 4 hours preparing the blades to do some precision work. All chisels require some dressing when they are new, but these were surprisingly crude when they arrived. Sad to see American craftsmanship at this level -classic case of price to quality ratio. The Japanese wet stones 1000 and 4000 were superb.

First complete set I've ever purchased
I'm a new carver and want to add carvings to the furniture I make. I was able to carve a cartouche using the set which I had not been able to do before. I am not able to compare the tools but they were adequate for my beginning work.

more than expected
Fits medium to small hands great. They were sharp rite out of the package. They need to include a display rack to keep them safe and handy. Good product for the price.

Middle of the road tools
Hobby class tools , were shipped with burrs still on the blades.

Great set
These chisels were ready to go with only miner touch up and stropping. I bought a cheap set before these, take my advice and get these don't waste your money on the cheap ones.
-
You get what you pay for
These are usable chisels, but I don't think a serious carver would be happy with them. I would recommend them to a person who wants to try his hand before making a big investment in top of the line carving tools.
