Great Idea for a belt sander
The 1.5 16 belt sander is a very handy tool. Easy to use with one hand and gets into places my 3 X 18 will not go. The problem with this sander is it is not a quality tool. After a few months the belt began to slip. I solved this problem by wrapping the idler wheel with tape to increase tension on the belt. The new problem to appear was the shaft of the power roller began to freeze up. I was able to figure out how to remove it and after greasing it work great. The final straw was wen the power wheel began to slit off the power gear. I have not attempted to take the unit apart to see if I can repair it. Belt sanders are not that complicated. They need to sit down and reengineer this product.
