Quality Hardware for an Awesome Looking Pen

Let me start by saying I'm new to pen making. This is my 5th pen and it was a learning experience to say the least. It was meant to be a gift to my wife and I went through 3 blanks before I got one that didn't blowout or sand through - those wooden walls next to the brass barrels are SUPER THIN. I finally got a nice slightly brown streaked ebony blank to work and the pen turned out great. However, the kit was missing a spring, I think, the downloadable instructions mentioned a spring and there wasn't one in the kit. Also, the instructions were a little vague, in my relatively inexperienced opinion, compared to other Woodcraft pen kits.
