It is made from seasoned hard and figured maple with a long iron for years of service. Body measures approximately 6" long x 13/4" wide and weighs 7.6 oz. The 1-1/4"- wide blade is shaped to match the sole and is A2 steel hardened to Rc60-62, ground to a 22-1/2° bevel, and set in the plane at a 45° angle with the bevel down.
