Band Saw Box Basics

Demonstration and discuss the techniques used to safely operate a bandsaw. We will cover tune-up setup of the bandsaw for accurate cuts. This class is a great help to someone just starting out or anyone who wants to better his/her skills using this versatile tool. Each student will make a small box using the band saw. Tool List: Safety glasses with side shields, dust mask, and hearing protection are mandatory. Shop apron, notebook and pencil are recommended. Tuition Notes No refunds for cancellations less than 7 days prior to class. Reschedules only.

Basic Table-Saw Skills - Table-saw 101

Learn the basics of the most useful machine in your shop, the table-saw. We will cover the selection of the table-saw blades and accessories. Also, covered will be tune-up and maintenance of the table-saw. The basic safety rules will be covered and stressed. Using square stock, the instructor will demonstrate the safe way to complete the eight basic cuts, which are the basis for about 98% of table-saw operations. Each student will have an opportunity to practice the 8 basic cuts in class. Tool List: Safety glasses with side shields, dust mask, and hearing protection are mandatory. Shop apron, notebook and pencil are recommended. Tuition Notes: No refunds for cancellations less than 7 days prior to class. Reschedules only. Includes materials.

Sections are: Marking and layout tools, Chisels, Gouges & carving tools, Hand planes, Scrapers, Hand saws, Files & rasps. Be prepared to give up some of your power tools and switch over to hand tools, where you become one with wood.
