In this follow-up course to table-saw 101, we will begin to put the eight basic cuts to work. Demonstration and practice making rabbits, lap joints, dados and tenons. Selection and set-up of dados blades will be discussed. Tool List: Safety glasses with side shields, dust mask, and hearing protection are mandatory. Shop apron, notebook and pencil are recommended. Tuition Notes; No refunds for cancellations less than 7 days prior to class. Reschedules only.

Learn spindle turning on the lathe by making a small pepper grinder. This project will introduce roughing a blank round, turning coves and beads as well as sanding on the lathe. To finish up, students will learn to apply simple friction polish finishes.

In this follow-on course to Beginning Finishing, we will explore the process of applying colored stains and dyes to wood. Using the surface preparation techniques learned in basic wood finishing we will apply them to making two more sample boards. Types of stains, and dyes will be covered as well.
