Basic Cabinet Making

Part 1: Saturday, August 23, 10 AM - 5 PM

Part 2: Sunday, August 24, 11 AM - 4 PM

Learn to make basic cabinets for the kitchen, bathroom or shop in this two-day class. Bob will discuss all aspects of cabinet making such as design, layout, and building the carcass. Bob will teach you how to use the pocket hole jig for joining face frames, and for joining the carcasses of the cabinets. You will make a shelf and then use a jig for drilling shelf pin holes. The router table, table saw, jointer, sander, and planer will all be used. During the class, you will make and then take home a 2' x 2' cabinet.

Bandsaw Boxes Made Simple

Saturday, August 30, 10 AM - 4 PM

In this class you will tune up your skills by using the band saw, spindle sander, belt sander, disk sander, clamping and gluing. With expert guidance, you will take a simple block of wood and turn it into a beautiful box. The skills you learn will enable you to progress into many other uses for your band saw.

Basic Pen Turning

Sunday, August 31, 12 PM - 4 PM

Did you know that you can make the same stylish and professional looking pens as those available in fine gift shops? Learn the techniques that produce excellent results every time. David will show you how to cut, drill, square the ends, turn, sand, apply a durable finish quickly and then assemble the parts. Soon you will be making pens for all of your friends. And now you can double your enjoyment... make one pen to give away and one for yourself. That's right...you get to make TWO pens!
