This class will focus on sharpening three of the most common edge tools in the wood shop; the hand plane, the chisel and spokeshave. David will explain the use of angle setting jigs as well as the differences between various sharpening mediums. Students are encouraged to bring one handplane, chisel and/or spokeshave to be sharpened.
Learn how to select a blade and adjust the tension, set the guide blocks/bearings, check wheel alignment, change tires, switch blades and use the tilting table. In addition, some cutting techniques such as re-sawing and circle cutting will be covered as well. This is a hands-on class so come prepared to practice and get dusty. BSAW101NT
