Learn the basics of using power tools for woodworking. You'll learn about the router, drill press, dovetail jigs, jointer, planer, band saw, and more as you create a tool box/garden tote/candle box. Safety Gear Including Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses & Dust Mask. Please wear closed toe shoes. A $50 Material Fee Payable To The Instructor Is Required For This Class.

Introduction to Intarsia

Part 1: Wednesday, June 4, 1 PM - 4 PM

In this hands-on class, students will create an intarsia design by cutting pieces from different wood species and shaping them with carving tools to add depth and detail. They will also learn to use a scroll saw for cutting the pieces. Various design options are available to choose from.

3D Wood Carving For Beginners

Would you like to see how you would do carving a 3-dimensional figure or object? Saman is just the person to show you how to go about it, from the different tools to use to what woods to choose for your project. In this class, a 3-dimensional whimsical animal will be carved. During the class, Saman will discuss and demonstrate sharpening and honing techniques to keep your tool edges razor sharp. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
