Woodshop 101 at Night

Looking to get started in woodworking but not sure where to begin? This is the class for you! Louis will introduce you to the most common tools in the shop and assure you understand how to operate each of them safely. You will also learn the essentials about wood grain and movement as you move through the milling process. Students will be paired up during the class, and will leave with a cutting/serving board that will be a joy to show off. This is a hands-on class so come ready to get dirty, have some fun, and create something beautiful!! This is a two session night class. Pen Turning Basics

Friday, September 12, 9:30 AM - 2 PM

Use basic spindle turning skills to craft two beautiful wooden ink pens. Learn all the components used such as pen blanks, mandrels, pen mills and the pen press. Next you will make a Slim Line pen, then choose to either make a Wall Steet II pen or a Cigar pen on the lathe. Pen turning is easy and enjoyable, and you end up with a couple of great ink pens. Whittle a Figure

Saturday, September 13, 10 AM - 2 PM

Join carver Jerry McNulty as he guides you through the steps of carving a full figure flat plane style carving using only a knife. This is a great follow up class to the intro to woodcarving class. Students are welcome from all levels. Basic cuts will be reviewed before the project is started. The Detail Knife included with the Intro to Woodcarving Class is the one recommended for use in this class. No Refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of Class date.
