Join carver Jerry McNulty as he guides you through the steps of carving a full figure flat plane style carving using only a knife. This is a great follow up class to the intro to woodcarving class. Students are welcome from all levels. Basic cuts will be reviewed before the project is started. The Detail Knife included with the Intro to Woodcarving Class is the one recommended for use in this class. No Refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of Class date.

Lidded Jewelry Box

Learning how to build a Lidded Box is a great introduction to box making. The skills used to cut accurate miters will be explained in detail as students make their own box. The joints will be reinforced with splines using accenting wood to add strength and beauty. You will be using a variety of tools to accomplish this including the Table Saw, Router, Drum Sander and various hand tools. We will be using hardwoods to complete this project and you can take it home to apply the final finish. Different finishing techniques will be discussed in the class.
