Woodshop 101 at Night

Looking to get started in woodworking but not sure where to begin? This is the class for you! Louis will introduce you to the most common tools in the shop and assure you understand how to operate each of them safely. You will also learn the essentials about wood grain and movement as you move through the milling process. Students will be paired up during the class, and will leave with a cutting/serving board that will be a joy to show off. This is a hands-on class so come ready to get dirty, have some fun, and create something beautiful!! This is a two session night class. Band Saw Boxes

Have you been interested in furniture making but not sure where to start? Or maybe you’ve taken our 101 class and are looking to go to the next level. Our Shaker Hall Table class is a great next step. In this class we will discuss the basics of furniture construction as we build a classic piece of furniture. Following Shaker tradition, we will use cherry, a beautiful wood that is both easy to work and looks great. As for construction, the Festool Domino® will quickly knock out the joinery. Tapers at the table saw will be quick, easy, and safe! A little clean up with the hand plane and some sandpaper will bring this table together in this three-day class. Join this with our other Shaker Series classes and you will have a beautiful hand-made furniture set at a fraction of the cost, not to mention bragging rights having built it all yourself!
