This is possibly one of the simplest 3D cutting boards to make. Tom will present tips on precise glue ups, cutting on a table saw, flattening your boards on a planer, sanding, routing, and finishing. In addition to the cutting board, you will make blanks for knife handles that will match your new board. We supply all the materials, and you will go home with a 3D cutting board.
Upgrade your woodworking skills incorporating the use of laser etching and engraving. Basic overview/understanding of XTOOLs software. Learn how to create your own woodworking LOGO. Understand some of the applications such as engrave pens, Christmas ornaments, and logos. Use the laser to layout/cut wood for classic scroll saw projects. Learn to personalize your woodworking projects. For the class we will be utilizing both the XTOOLS F1 and F1 Ultra. We will give a basic understanding of the differences between the two. There will not be a need to bring a computer however if you are able to download the XTOOLS software on a laptop prior to the class you are welcome to bring it with you. The intention of this class is to introduce you to the endless possibilities that incorporating a laser into your shop.
Learn how to make the professional pens found in fine gift shops. Mark will instruct you on the complete process from wood selection to the final finish. After completing this class you will take home a completed pen to show off. Soon you will be designing and making these works of art for family and friends.
