Inlays Part 3: Using Epoxy

If your inlay pattern includes complicated or irregular shapes, epoxy can simplify the process and give a unique finished look. In this two-evening class, you'll use a router to cut the void and then choose a color, mix the epoxy and fill the void. The epoxy needs time to cure so during the second evening, you'll plane, sand and finish the board. At the end, you'll be ready to make more challenging shapes and patterns for future projects. Note: A $20 materials fee (cash or Square) will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of class.

Keepsake Box Making for Beginners

Box making is a timeless craft – its simple shape is both versatile and useful. In this hands-on class, you’ll build a mitered-corner box using basic shop tools, then create a “spline jig” to reinforce the corners with contrasting wood keys. These add strength and visual flair. As artisan woodworker Craig Gilbert guides you through this process, he’ll also share additional creative ways to personalize your box and make it distinctly your own. If time allows, you’ll also explore finishing techniques with a take-home product. At the end of the class, you’ll have a box you’ll be proud to show off—and a tool you’ll use again and again to add flair and style to your future work. Note: a $25 materials fee (cash or Square) will be collected by the instructor at time of the class.

From Lathe to Leather: Create a Bud Vase & Rose

Saturday, May 2, 2026, 9:30 AM - 4 PM

Craft a wooden bud vase and hand‑formed leather roses in this two‑part workshop blending woodturning and leatherwork. In the morning (9:30 AM–12:30 PM at Woodcraft), Ryan Stevens teaches spindle turning with carbide tools as you shape your vase. In the afternoon (1:30–4:00 PM at Tandy Leather), John Wagle guides you through dying and forming your leather roses. No experience needed—just bring your creativity. Note: a $40 materials fee (cash or Venmo) is payable to Ryan at the start of class.
