In this class we'll cover hand-held routers, router tables and router bit selection. Each participant will have an opportunity to use a hand-held router and router table.
Learn how to make a custom cheese slicing board. Choose a Large Black or Chrome Cheese Slicer kit and then a laminated maple and cherry cutting board. Learn to use a table saw to size the cutting board and the cutting wire slot, then use a drill to bore the slicer shaft hole. Apply cutting board oil and it will be ready to use. An additional option would be to purchase a set of rubber feet or upscale chrome or brass trim feet to install.
Learn to tune-up, sharpen and use hand planes to improve your woodworking. Flatten wide boards that will not fit on your jointer, use a smoothing plane to skip all that sanding, and perfect the fit by removing just thousandths of an inch when needed. This hands-on class will cover how to tune-up a new or old plane, getting the blade sharp, and how to set-up and use the primary bench planes. These include the block, jack, jointer and smooth plane. Bring your planes, sharpening stones, honing guides and a practice board to class if you have them. If not, you can borrow what you need in class.
