Introduction To The Router

The router has a reputation as being a tool that is mostly used by advanced woodworkers, but this is not the case. Properly used, the router can be the most useful tool in your arsenal. This class is designed to introduce you to the many ways this tool is used, from edge jointing to edge decorating to dadoing and rabbiting, as well as sign making. Properly jigged, the router can also be used for flattening and thicknessing lumber and even cutting holes and disks. There will also be some discussion about router tables. Bring your safety glasses, ear plugs, your own router (so Joe can see what you have to work with), and be prepared to learn about the scope and versatility of this most useful tool.

Women's Build-Small Box

Ladies Only! Build a box with Katie and Jen in this beginner class - the first from this instructor duo tailored to their fellow women woodworkers. You will learn the basics of various power tools and shop safety then walk away with a gorgeous two-tone keepsake box. Tools involved in this build: table saw, miter saw, band saw, drum sander, palm sander and drill press.

Build a Trestle Table

Part 1: Thursday, October 15, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Part 2: Friday, October 16, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Part 3: Saturday, October 17, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Want to build a new table? How about a Trestle table! In this class, you will build a table from cherry and will learn how to make a large glue up for the top, cut curves and make legs from thicker material. This is not a beginning class-you need to have a working knowledge of how to use a planer, jointer, and a table saw. You will also use the bandsaw and learn how to use the Festool Domino. When you leave the class, you will have a completed table except for finish so you can finish it to fit your needs.
