Learn how to turn a box with a lid on the lathe from one solid blank. We will discuss some common pitfalls and do's and don't while learning the basic techniques for making a vessel with a fitting lid on the lathe.
If you would like to learn to start woodworking and build a decorative Step Stool for home use or as a gift, join Dave in starting your journey into woodworking. You will be learning to use a Table Saw, Bandsaw, and Router Table along with a Drill to assemble. All that will be left for you to do is put a finish on of your choice at home. Class participants must be 18 years of age or older unless special pre-authorization is given by store.
Participants will learn the correct use and safety practices when working with the planer, jointer, table saw, miter saw and router. We will first use the machines to mill rough cut lumber into dimensioned boards. The next step is to glue up the dimensioned lumber into a board that will be finished into a charcuterie board with the planer and router . A discussion on appropriate finishes will close the class.
