NEW CLASS! Fundamentals of Woodworking - Shaker-Style Side Table

with Sarah Marriage

Part 1: Friday, September 12, 1 PM - 5 PM

Part 2: Friday, September 19, 1 PM - 5 PM

In this class, students will build a solid wood side table with the clean, classic look of Shaker design—using modern, beginner-friendly techniques. We’ll use the Festool Domino for joinery and a tapering jig on the table saw to shape the legs. Students will glue up their own tabletops and learn how to attach them in a way that allows for natural wood movement. This is a great project for building confidence with furniture-making basics while creating a beautiful and functional piece.

This class is the perfect introduction to the woodshop! Students will be introduced to the most important tools in a woodshop as they go through milling, shaping, and finishing to create a beautiful cutting board/serving tray to take home. This is a hands-on experience so safety will be the top priority. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and materials are included.

This class is a great introduction to making mitered boxes! Students will learn how to cut accurate miters, assemble boxes, and install hinges to create an attractive lidded box. This is a hands-on experience so safety will be the top priority. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and materials are included.
