NEW CLASS! Intro to Double-Bevel Marquetry

Part 1: Saturday, September 6, 10 AM - 2 PM

Part 2: Sunday, September 7, 10 AM - 2 PM

Join master craftsman and book author, Albert Kleine, for this introductory course in marquetry, the practice of inlaying wood veneers to create images. It emphasizes traditional double-bevel methods using only hand tools. The first session covers theory and process, including geometry, tools, and sawing technique. By the end, you’ll be able to inlay veneer into a backer – foundational for marquetry. In the second session, you’ll apply your skills to create a simple leaf design. Advanced techniques, such as layering, grain orientation, sand-shading, and managing oxidation and shrinkage, will also be discussed to enhance your marquetry skills. This course is beginner-friendly, equipping you with essential techniques for more complex projects. Some woodworking experience is helpful but not required; all skill levels are welcome!

NEW CLASS! Intro to Epoxy Resin - with Live Edge Slab

Part 1: Monday, September 8, 3 PM - 7 PM

Part 2: Monday, September 15, 3 PM - 7 PM

In this two part Intro to Epoxy Resin class students will learn every step of the process, including fitting a live edge slab into a mold, mixing epoxy (with colors), pouring the epoxy, removing the mold, shaping and finishing. Students will take home their very own live edge and epoxy resin piece which can be used as a serving board or small table top or wall art.

Intro to the Lathe and Spindle Turning

Tuesday, September 9, 4 PM - 7 PM

Intended for new turners. Students will get hands-on experience while learning turning safety, tools, and techniques. Instruction will focus on spindle turning and traditional lathe tools. Students will take home a small spindle turned item. Let's make something! Materials included.
