In this class, students will use a Santoku knife blank to learn how to shape and attach a custom handle to create a unique knife. This high-quality knife is made of Japanese Damascus steel.
In this hands-on technique class, students will learn to cut traditional hand-cut dovetails using a backsaw and chisels. We’ll cover layout strategies, sawing tips, and paring techniques to achieve clean, tight-fitting joints. The focus is on skill-building rather than making a finished product, so students can refine their technique through repetition and feedback. This class is perfect for those looking to deepen their understanding of joinery and improve their precision with hand tools.
Learn how to layout and create patterns without a template. Carve patterns and scenes using a v-tool and gouges. These "applied" designs are a great way to add some pop to your projects. With a small kit many designs are possible, such as the bird carving students will also practice. Materials included.
Using your router to create projects gets a little easier with a jig or template. We’ll walk you through the basics how to rout with a template.
