A woodworking workshop designed to teach participants how to use a scroll saw while creating a functional, heat-resistant kitchen trivet. You’ll learn how to set up the saw, adjust blade tension, and minimize machine vibration. explain the different types of blades (e.g., standard vs. reverse tooth) and which one to choose based on the wood's thickness and the design's complexity. Pattern Transfer, and Cutting Techniques.at the end of the class you will have a trivet fit for a mothers day girt.

Intermediate V-carve

Saturday, April 25, 2026, 12 PM - 4 PM

We will go beyond the simple v-carve and profile toolpaths. We will look at using other tools such as ball nose with end mills to create small dishes and boxes with rounded bottoms. We will look at matching strategies to better use the tools. Textures and fluting will also be discussed g-code will also be a topic of discussion for a basic understanding of how the machine operates and how the code can be modified to do other operations.

Woodturning: Making a wand

Turning a wood wand is a beginner-friendly woodturning project that involves shaping a roughly 1"x1"x14" spindle on a lathe using roughing gouges and spindle gouges. Learning to use a roughing gouge to create a cylinder, followed by a Spindle gouge for tapering Creating comfortable handles with decorative beads, and coves.
