This class will cover many different construction methods of creating a drawer box for your cabinet. We will discuss the layout, drawer guide hardware, building techniques of a drawer, and how to use the table saw, router table, miter saw, and hand router to construct the drawer box.
This class will cover all the major shop equipment, including the table saw, miter saw, thickness planer, and jointer. We will discuss lumber selection, proper lumber preparation, and layout techniques. We will also cover gluing techniques, sanding, and finishing techniques. Come to learn and leave with a completed cutting board that will give you pride in your work.
Pen turning is a form of spindle turning with a mandrel. You will need to choose and purchase two pen kits and the bushings that go with those pen kits. Everything else will be supplied so you can complete your chosen pen kits. We will cover all the basics in this class, including the lathe, tool selection for pen turning, supplies needed for making pens, sharpening, materials used in pen turning, and other tips and tricks.
Face Plate turning is an important type of woodturning. Bowls are a primary example of Face Plate turning. In this class, we will practice turning the outside and inside of a bowl before making a beautiful, finished bowl. All the basics will be covered, including the lathe, tool selection for bowl turning, sharpening, lumber selection, and the cuts that will give you success in making a bowl.
Learn hand carving with Robb Webster. We will cover a basic introduction to tools and sharpening, then get hands-on practice with multiple projects: Mushroom, Christmas Tree, and Pickle as Holiday Decorations. Please bring your own tools.
This class will guide you through the Pen making process, from woods to choose and different styles available to the differences of wood and man made materials. You'll do everything from cutting the wood blank to length to final finish and assembly. When you complete this class you'll leave with 2 pens of you own making and an understanding and of how to do this at home in your own shop.
Spindle turning is one of the main types of woodturning. This class will allow you to practice the basic techniques necessary to produce any spindle. All the basics will be covered, including the lathe, tool selection for spindle turning, sharpening lumber selection, and the cuts necessary to make lathe-turned spindles successfully.
We will be carving a simple gnome for a decoration or to give as a gift. Please bring your own tools, basic carving and tool maintenance will be covered
The carcass of a cabinet is the box. The face frame is the solid wood frame that covers the front edge of the box. This class will cover design, layout, machines, equipment, and cabinetry construction. You will be constructing a full-size cabinet that you will be able to take home. Bring a notepad and a pencil, you’ll need them.
