Bandsaw Basics

In this class students will learn the fundamentals of using a bandsaw, including set-up, blade types and cutting techniques.

This class will provide students with a basic understanding of a CNC machine as well as Vetric software. Students will learn to design and create CAD/CAM code that can be saved and utilized on their CNC getting the same results each time. Students will make and take home a personalized name plate with added embellishments. Required tools - Laptop with Vetric Software installed before the class (we're happy to offer guidance for downloading and installing Vetric), USB Drive 2.0, no larger than 2GB.
This class is a great introduction to routers and router templates! Students will use a plunge router and router template to make a pair of interlocking charcuterie boards to take home and show off. This is a hands-on experience so safety will be the top priority. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and materials are included.
In this introductory scroll saw class, students will learn about the scroll saw itself as well as safety, techniques and project ideas. Plenty of practice time is built in to this class with multiple patterns to choose from, including the pictured Maryland puzzle.
Join master craftsman and book author, Albert Kleine, for this introductory course in marquetry, the practice of inlaying wood veneers to create images. It emphasizes traditional double-bevel methods using only hand tools. The first session covers theory and process, including geometry, tools, and sawing technique. By the end, you’ll be able to inlay veneer into a backer – foundational for marquetry. In the second session, you’ll apply your skills to create a simple leaf design. Advanced techniques, such as layering, grain orientation, sand-shading, and managing oxidation and shrinkage, will also be discussed to enhance your marquetry skills. This course is beginner-friendly, equipping you with essential techniques for more complex projects. Some woodworking experience is helpful but not required; all skill levels are welcome!
Intended for new turners. Students will get hands-on experience while learning turning safety, tools, and techniques. Instruction will focus on spindle turning and traditional lathe tools. Students will take home a small spindle turned item. Let's make something! Materials included.
In this class, you will use a Zhen 4 3/4" Santoku knife blank to learn how to shape and attach a custom handle to create a unique knife. This high-quality knife is made of Japanese Damascus steel and is perfect for multi-tasking around the kitchen.

Students will learn the basic design elements and methods to use a bowl gouge for clean cutting, how to mount a bowl blank on the lathe, be introduced to additional lathe tools, understand the requirements for a sharp tool, and make a small bowl. The bulk of the class is a hands-on experience. Intro to the Lathe and Spindle Turning class or Instructor Permission is required.
This class is intended to introduce kids (ages 8-13) to woodworking in a safe and supportive environment. Students will learn shop safety under experienced woodworker and educator, David Lloyd, while completing their project using a pre-cut cutting board kit, glue, clamps and sanders. Materials included.

In this two part Intro to Epoxy Resin class students will learn every step of the process, including fitting a live edge slab into a mold, mixing epoxy (with colors), pouring the epoxy, removing the mold, shaping and finishing. Students will take home their very own live edge and epoxy resin piece which can be used as a serving board or small table top or wall art.

This class will build on skills developed in the spindle turning class and introduce a number of new skills that are important in woodturning. After creating the basic shape between centers, we will complete the piece by creating a tenon for a chuck (to hold the piece from one end), drilling on the lathe, hollowing out the vessel, and finishing up by using a jam chuck to complete the bottom of the vessel. We will make a small vase using these new skills. Introduction to the Lathe and Spindle Turning is required.
