Standing Santas are a great beginner project. Only three tools are used: a carving knife, a detail knife, and a small gouge. The cuts are very basic, but when they are combined, an adorable hand-carved holiday project is the result. Remember, all the photos are from the carver’s perspective. Make your hands look and do what the hands in the photo are doing and you’re on your way.
