The art of hand-cut dovetails has become a race against time as Frank Klausz and Mike Siemsenwent saw to saw at Woodworking in America. We won’t bore you with the verbal details as the entertainment comes from the boys and their woodworking toys with some added music provided by Mike Siemsen in the first video. Frank wins the competition in what appears to be approximately 2 minutes and 35 seconds.
In the second video, Rob Cosman demos the same dovetail techniques with verbal instructions and tips (which adds to the definition of multi-tasking!), in about 3-1/2 minutes with planing both boards at the end. In any event, time is just for fun and not really the issue when creating fine furniture. The true knowledge and craftsmanship of all three professional woodworkers here is very apparent.
