Turn a Lidded Box

This class will go over the tools and techniques to turn a lidded box with a fit lid. With just a few tools and a small amount of almost any hardwood, burl, or exotic wood, we will make a beautiful gift, or craft show item. We will go over chucking methods and techniques to create your design, end grain hollowing, and sanding and applying sanding sealer, and friction finish or poly. Each Student will take home a box to show off to their friends and family. Some woodturning experience is preferred.

Come let Tom will lead you through the process of Completing this board. The topics covered will be glue up, flattening of the board, routing the edges, final sanding and finishing. You will take home a completed board that you can be proud of and for you to use and show off to your friends and family. Finished board will be approximately 1-1/2” T x 9-7/8” W x 16” L
