Many furniture makers are afraid to build their own pieces without buying plans. This is ESPECIALLY TRUE of chair making, where many woodworkers are afraid of the challenges presented by comfortable seating (form/function). Karr will discuss his 35-year career designing furniture for clients, and how he achieved success with his customers during the design phase. He will show how to achieve beautiful designs using 1/8 scale models, 1" thick foam insulation full scale mock ups, and templates, to develop your own designs.

Beginning Pen Turning

Saturday, March 14, 2026, 1 PM - 4 PM

Our staff will teach you how to make your own exotic wooden pen. You will receive instruction and practice on the lathe as you create your own unique writing instrument.

2 Day Bowl Turning w/ Live edge bowl

Part 1: Friday, March 20, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Part 2: Saturday, March 21, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Two day bowl class with Greg Bray! Learn how to break down a tree for bowl blanks. We will turn a dry wood bowl the first day. Second day we will turn a wet natural edge bowl! We will cover the drying process for this piece of art! Mounting methods, surface preparation, sanding, and finishing will be covered. Two bowls will be going home with you! One hour lunch preak. (Not provided). Face shield, calipers, 3/8 fingernail bowl gouge and parting tool required.
