This a one of a kind class taught by longtime carver Duff Greenwood. Duff will review wood & tool selection, the basic four carving cuts, proper techniques, safety and how to carve a WOODEN SPOON. Written outline, instructions and plans will be included. There is a material cost of $10.00___ for the basswood carving blank. Students need to bring a sharp carving knife with a blade of 1” to 1-1/4” and a sharp palm gouge ¼” to 3/8” wide or purchase these at the store. Another great class for beginning carvers.

Professional cabinet maker Conner Jonson will take you through the critical steps of creating beautiful cabinetry You will learn the necessary tools and equipment to complete most cabinet projects, including design setup, cabinet components, materials including plywood and hardwood, cut preparation including measurements, cut list for cabinet parts, carcass assembly, face frame assembly, drawer and door construction, final assembly and finishing. NEW CLASS - In this class, resident expert, Bob Settich will teach you the time-honored mortise and tenon joint. This strongest of all joints will enable you to make tables and other furniture of almost any style. With a hand held router and a jig that you'll make with scrap plywood, you'll cut mortises with amazing precision. Additionally, the jig also places the mirror-image mortise in the legs at the opposite end of each table or chair rail. You'll also practice several different ways of producing tenons that fit perfectly. Lastly, you'll learn techniques for no-stress glue-ups, plus several reinforcing steps that will create incredibly strong furniture
