Description: The Ulu style knife is designed after the knife used by Eskimos to skin and butcher whales and walruses. It's curved blade is ideal for chopping vegetables and herbs. We will put an attractive handle on the blade and make a companion cutting board. The board will have a depression matching the curvature of the knife. This will involve turning and shaping on a lathe. A food safe finish will be applied to both knife and board.

You will learn the methods for chucking and rechucking the box and lid on the lathe using jam chucks to remove all tenons used during the process. You will also learn tricks to getting a perfect suction-fit lid. Lidded boxes are fun projects to advance your woodturning skills and they make great gifts.

Description: Golfers have little tricks for special occasions. Here's one to help overcome the water hazzard. This little guy is a simple carving project guaranteed to bring a chuckle. It is a characterized bucktoothed duck head affixed to a golf club head. The students will leave with one carved in class and a booklet of drawings, pictures, and descriptions to make more for gifts. Description: In this two day class, you will build a small face framed oak cabinet which will have a door (flat panel) and a drawer above it. The top will be oak plywood trimmed with solid oak frame. This class will provide the information that you can use to construct future cabinet projects. Installation of drawer slides, hinge selection, and other construction details will be covered.

Description: In this class, you will build a small lidded box with a lift off lid.Steve has over 30 years of wood working experience, and specializes in boxes of all types,he will walk you through the entire process of making this wonderful box. During this class, Steve will offer some suggestions to you for building future boxes and enhancing them with materials other than wood. By the end of the class, you will leave with a really nice looking box that can be left a natural color or stained. He will also cover types of hinges and other hardware that can be used when building boxes. He will also cover different techniques of finishing your box to present the appearance you desire.

Description: The Ulu style knife is designed after the knife used by Eskimos to skin and butcher whales and walruses. It's curved blade is ideal for chopping vegetables and herbs. We will put an attractive handle on the blade and make a companion cutting board. The board will have a depression matching the curvature of the knife. This will involve turning and shaping on a lathe. A food safe finish will be applied to both knife and board.
