Basic Pen Turning Class

HANDS-ON. 14 Years and older, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We have a new Pen Instructor! Join Chuck Silber as he brings the world of pen turning to life. Pen turning on the lathe is a great hobby that can also make extra money. Chuck has a great hands-on approach to teaching and will show students all the steps of how to set up your lathe with the right mandrel and bushings for easy pen turning with great results. Square Board Fundamentals

Monday, September 14, 2026, 6 PM - 10 PM

HANDS-ON. Got rough boards? Want to learn the simple steps needed to machine that board square, flat and the correct thickness to build something? Then this is the perfect hands-on class for you. Howard will teach the basics of wood technology and stock preparation. This fun, quick class will cover the use of the table saw, jointer and thickness planer. Students will also learn which side of the board should be used for the outside of the project and learn how to glue up a panel without it cupping. DON'T UNDER ESTIMATE THIS CLASS!!...it is a "MUST TAKE" for anyone buying rough cut lumber. This class fills quickly so, sign up A.S.A.P. Router Basics

Part 1: Wednesday, September 16, 2026, 6 PM - 10 PM

Part 2: Thursday, September 17, 2026, 6 PM - 10 PM

HANDS-ON. We have a great class that will teach all the ins-and-outs of how to use your Router. Both Router table work and hand-held Router work will be covered. Students will get hands-on experience and build a small storage box during this informative class. You will learn different techniques of cut, fence and miter gauge work, Router bit selection and basic Router safety. Cutting dados, rabbets, slots, mitered corners and edge trim will be easy.
