Gavilan (Pentaclethra macroloba) sapwood is pink, gradually changing to a reddish brown heartwood. With straight to slightly interlocking grain, varying texture from medium to coarse. Wood has good working properties in all operations, glues and finishes well. Texture is medium to coarse with a moderate to high luster. Slab measures 1-1/2" x 14" x 47" and has been surfaced on both sides.
