Your WE100 doesn’t come with strops or stropping compound, so this is a smart upgrade. The Pro Pack 2 doesn’t come with the 5 and 3.5 micron diamond paste or balsa strops either, so buy this to complete your set.
The 5 and 3.5 micron diamond paste is supremely suited to getting a superior polished edge on your blades.Balsa wood has been proven to be an excellent material for stropping knives. The combination of smooth- porous surface coupled with its slight pliability makes balsa a perfect choice as a honing accessory. The surface is just rigid enough that it makes easy work of straightening rolled edges and its porous surface means that it accepts and holds stropping compounds very well.
