Great saw for the most part
I upgraded from a cheap Irwin pull saw and I am so glad I did. This saw took my dovetails to the next level. It cuts faster, cleaner, more comfortable and more accurately. I used to use a Katz-Moses magnetic dovetail guide but with this saw I can cut so reliably and follow my own lines so easily that I can freehand my cuts even more accurately than with the guide. My one issue with the saw is that the spine is very thick and you cant really look down the center of the blade, you kind of have to look to the side which makes it a little harder to follow the pencil/knife mark. I think a thin brass spine would have been better, and I believe higher-end dovetail saws usually have this style spine - but I'm so happy with everything else about this saw that I don't think I'll be upgrading any time soon.

Great saw!
I love mine! It is well balanced and has no play or wobble to it at all which lends itself to more confident/ accurate cutting. Very little break- in work was needed to smooth out any production burrs from the teeth cutting process. I don't think you can get a better saw for the price anywhere.

Awesome saw
As a beginner woodworker with a surprising obsession with handtools and traditional techniques, I've spent the past few months learning and practicing the basics: sharpening, cutting to a line, planing, etc. I practiced cutting dovetails almost daily for the past three months and failed each time. (I was using a Crown Gent's Saw, which I like, but it's not made for dovetailing.) Last week I finally succeeded, and to celebrate I treated myself to my first good-quality new tool: the Veritas Fine-Cut Dovetail saw. All I can say is, what a difference a good tool makes. This saw is perfectly balanced, feels great in the hand and is just a pleasure to use. It starts easy and tracks perfectly straight... truly does the work for you. Higher priced saws may perform marginally better, but I can't imagine needing more or being happier with the value. I've also used it for small tenons and it shines there as well. Buy and enjoy!

Grandpa's Tools
This tool must be popular because it was backordered and tool over a month to arrive.

Very good saw
I purchased this saw so I could have 2 saws as I do not sharpen saws with this small tpi and have to send them out. My other saw is a more expensive one and of the traditional style. I really like this saw. It is comfortable in hand and cuts very well. I used it to cut 120 tails in red oak drawer faces and maple sides and backs. It was a little jumpy at first but after some use it settled down and went to work. I like the saw enough that it may take over first chair for dovetail work.

quality saw
Nice saw. You can feel the quality. Angle of the handle a little awkward for me but I am getting used to it.

I've read a number of reviews and have to agree with them that this is one fine saw for roughly half the price of the ohters reviewed.
