    Knife1

From cutting and marking in the shop, to hunting and camping, to preparing a simple meal, a good knife is indispensable. Mass-produced knives can be found for every budget and use. But custom knives, which are often far more attractive, tend to get expensive very quickly.

Of course, the ultimate custom knife would include a hand-forged and hand-sharpened blade. If you’re not up for the expense and dirty work of such an endeavor, you can still experience the pride of a well-crafted and functional addition to your tool collection. All you need is a knife kit.

Avoid this one like the plague.

Terrible instructions. No picture diagrams or part numbers. Vague identifying descriptions and instructions like "small screws" and "place in center hole" when there are 4 holes. Blade lock screw and nut either did not match or were cross threaded. Fortunately I like to pre-assemble hardware BEFORE putting any work into the handles. This one is being returned and filed under "waste of time".

      Poor Instructions, Poor design

Poor and incomplete instructions. There are much better kits out there, with better design, better instructions, and better quality. May be better if you had prior experience with this kit. I would recommend talking to someone who has built this kit for advice before buying.

      Satisfying Kit

I have completed several knife kits. This one was not the easiest but produced a petit pocket knife that is cool looking and useful. The locking mechanism works great when assembled properly. I was able to acheive a razor sharp edge. It looks beautiful and fits in my pocket.

      Not so good

Like some of the other reviews, this kit was not that great. Instructions were confusing. My kit was missing two screws. Parts had to be tweaked to work correctly. I wouldn't recommend this as your first knife kit. When making this knife, I would definitely use a practice blank before attempting the final scale.

      Dinkey little knife

I suppose I should have noticed how small this knife really is before I bought the kit. I was surprised to find how dull it was compared to the almost razor sharp blade on the larger knife I made first, but that was rectified by some honing. My main complaint would be that it is very difficult to adjust the knife so that the blade moves freely without worrying that the screws will fall out from being too loose. If it wasn't for that I would give it more stars.I would recommend it to a friend with reservations.

Worse Instructions I have Ever Seen

The instructions are extremely poor - no illustrations for parts identification, layout, or assembly. The worse kit I have ever struggled to make.

      Poorly designed folder kit

Been making knives for +10 years. This is not an easy knife to assemble. I don't like the open back. I thought it had a back liner spline but didn't. I wouldn't buy this folder kit again.

      A great kit

I bought two of these kits for my son and I to build together. A great project.

      fun project

I'm sort of a beginner so simple line drawings or photos would help greatly to understand the directions.

      Poor Quality!

Agree with previous review. The blade will not lock without modification to the blade or liner lock. Materials are cheap. Intructions are actually wrong as they tell you to drill four holes instead of three. Even after modification the liner lock barely contacts the blade creating a possible safety issue.

      Poor quality

It was fun making this knife, but it is not very good. The screws strip very easily. The blade lock does not work unless you grind done the back of the blade a little. The blade fits kind of loose. Had to add an extra washer to tighten it up.
