      Badly Sharpened

I like buying North American-made products, but this blade was a disappointment. It was badly sharpened upon arrival, with an odd back-bevel that prevented it from cutting well. (My stock Stanley #4 blade far outperformed it.) Woodcraft was nice about taking it back and refunding my money.

"I would buy this product again & again

This blade is the finest quality steel I have yet used. It was scary sharp out of the box. Makes my fifty year old Craftsman plane work much better than when it was new. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Many thanks to the technical support person who help me select it. It's a pleasure doing business with people like you.

Excellent quality tools are hard to come by these days but not this blade

      Great blade.

Right out of the box I put it in my Stanley #5 and was getting paper thin shavings. Good blade.

      This blade is FANTASTIC!

When my blade arrived at my door i was terribly excited. I opened the box and saw this massively thick blade and i was blown away. I wasted no time putting a third micro bevel at the cutting edge. I put it in my Stanley no.4 smoothing plane and made test cuts on white pine. I was getting curley shavings, the way its suppose to be. I can't wait to show this thing off to my woodworking teachers at trade school.

      great product

Realy improves the performance of a hand plane. Some metal had to be remove from the throat to ensure the iron remained flush with the frog.
